Pakistan have gone one-up in the five-match one-day series by winning the first match of the series on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Hosts Pakistan successfully chased a tally of 131 runs posted by the Sri Lankan in 21.5 overs for the loss of only two wickets.

Malinga in his five overs failed to grab a wicket, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Razzaq-c84421 bagged one and Afridi named three wickets to his name.
The 31-year-old Afridi was named as the Player of the Match for his exuberant performance in the match.
Speaking in the post match ceremony, the veteran said, “Alhamdullilah, feeling great to come back in the international arena after a while. We have a good team combination at the moment, we're going through a rebuilding process. Misbah is leading the team
very well."
Meanwhile Pakistan skipper while praised Afridi said, “The strength was our spinners, we stuck to the basics and they bowled well with the new ball. Afridi is a match-winner, he came on and bowled with a big heart. He took wickets at the right time and put
us on the right track."
Earlier, After winning the toss, the Sri Lankans chose to bat first in a bid to post a grand total against the Men in Green, but their plans were incinerated by an astounding bowling performance from Pakistan’s bowling brigade as the bowlers did not allow
the batsmen to play freely and while they restricted the opposition from batting to dominance they kept grabbing wickets at regular intervals which added pressure on the Lankans and caused a complete meltdown.
