Pakistan’s skipper Misbah-ul-Haq was dismissed early on day three of the second Test against Sri Lanka at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) on Friday, October 28, 2011.
The Men in Green ended day two on 281 for the loss of four wickets with Misbah unbeaten on 40 and night watchman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859 on five. The team had gained a first innings lead of 42 runs with six wickets remaining.
However, Misbah failed to make most of the solid foundation laid yesterday by the top-order batsmen.
The 37-year-old managed to score just one run today and was sent back to the pavilion by seamer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/UWMBCA-Welegedara-c2735.
There was not much assistance for the bowlers today morning, as the pitch was dry. However, Welegedara used the angle quite nicely, forcing the batsman to make a mistake.
The left-arm seamer angled one ball outside the off-stump and Misbah decided to have a poke at it. He had been leaving the ball nicely throughout the innings, but seemed to be in two minds on that particular delivery.
Only thing he managed was an outside edge, which went straight to the hands of the slip fielder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DPMD-Jayawardene-c1397. The veteran had dropped one chance yesterday, but did not make any mistake this time around.
Misbah walked back with a dejected look on his face, as he missed out on a half-century by nine runs. He scored 41 runs with the help of two fours and one massive six and would have liked to convert his start into a big one.
However, things did not go well for the Pakistan captain today and half of the team was dismissed for 283 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Asad-Shafiq-c46208 was the next batsman to walk out in the middle. He joined Ajmal at the crease and the pair will look to stretch the lead to as many as possible.
Wicketkeeper batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Junaid-Khan-c77037 to follow.
The wicket to fall in the morning was picked up by Welegedara, who will be eying to wrap up things quickly.
