Sri Lanka’s skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691 had won the toss and decided to bat first. The pitch was good for batting, as it was hard and dry.
However, there was some swing and bounce for the seamers, which allowed the Men in Green to pressurise the opposition.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/WU-Tharanga-c2802 and Dilshan opened the innings for their side, but failed to make an impression.
The former was the first man to be dismissed in the innings after adding just three runs to the total off 10 deliveries. He was caught behind off the bowling of left-arm seamer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-Tanvir-c90665, who swung the ball viciously in the first few overs.
Tanvir was continuously bringing the ball into the pads of the left-handed opener, but got one to move away from him.
Tharanga was unable to read the movement of the ball and edged the ball to the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sarfraz-Ahmed-c88818.
Next to go was Dilshan, who had been struggling throughout the series. The flamboyant batsman looked to attack the bowlers, but was unable to make a significant impression, getting out for 12 runs off 14 balls.
The right-handed opener just hung his bat at an away moving delivery from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Gul-c94604 and got an outside edge, which was once again taken safely by Akmal behind the stumps.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 lost two wickets for 20 runs on the board and things might get worse for the team with the passage of time.
There is no http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
However, there veteran batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KC-Sangakkara-c1779 can rescue his side from trouble, as he has the ability to cope up with the pressure.
The solid middle-order batsman will need some support from the other end as well otherwise the opposition will run away with the match comfortably.
From Pakistan’s point of view, the team has got a superb start and with the bowling they possess, the Sri Lankan middle-order will be under immense pressure.
