LIVE – Rahul Dravid hits a half century in his last One Day International – Match Update

India are yet to grab a victory in the two month long tour of England where they were first beaten in the four-match Test series by 4-0 followed by a defeat in the only T20 match of the tour and now the tourists are down by 2-0 in the one-day series.
Although the English have already won the one-day series, a win for India will mend some wounds for the team which had to bear the brunt of losing their number one status in Test cricket after being dethroned by England.
In today’s match at Cardiff, India were put into bat by England in a bid to whitewash the series, however, unlike the previous occasions the Indians exhibited a better batting performance as they lost their first wicket after posting 52 runs on the board

Dravid was then greeted by the Cardiff crowd with ovation as he walked in to play his last one-day game of his career.
The batsman once against proved imperative for his side because of his calm demeanour that prevented another batting meltdown as he prevented the English from grabbing another wicket.
When he walked in, there was every possibility that India might face another batting collapse, however, when Dravid finally lost his wicket after scoring 69 runs he had helped the side post 227 runs on the board with plenty of overs remaining for the upcoming
batsmen to capitalize on.
