On the 4th day of the game, the home side commenced their second innings after Australia decided to declare on their overnight total of 411/7.
The Aussie skipper, Michael Clarke’s decision to call time on the innings came as a follow up to the loss of 58 overs on Day-3, when bad weather did not permit the officials to continue play.

The latter gathered a lot of praise for clattering 141 runs on his first outing in Test cricket. Meanwhile, the veteran Hussey showed a lot of responsibility, steering his side to a handsome lead of 237 runs by hitting a fabulous 142-run-knock.
On the fourth morning, the Kangaroos decided not to continue their innings in a bid to put some pressure on the home side by taking early wickets in the first session.

As there is still some time left in the first session, the Lions are aiming not to lose any wicket before the lunch break and subsequently put some pressure on the opposition.
Since there is a lot batting to come, Sri Lanka has had a fine start to their inning, aiming to save the game as Australia’s victory in this Test will decide the series in their favour.
