The highlight of the innings was a terrific century stand between the T&T openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-Barath-c886. The pair put on 139 runs at the top of the order for their side.
Toss was won by the T&T skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Daren-Ganga-c52410, who opted to bat first without any hesitation. The pitch was dry and was expected to slow down with the passage of time.
Simmons and Barath walked out in the middle with a positive intent, as they attacked the opposition’s bowlers from the first over of the innings. The good thing about the pair was that they took calculated risk rather than slogging the ball.

Simmons was dismissed on the very next delivery after contributing 67 runs to the total. He faced 58 balls and clobbered seven boundaries in his innings.
The 26-year-old was also trying to clear the midwicket boundary, but found the edge of his bat. The ball went straight to the point fielder Claude Henderson, who made no mistake, as T&T lost two wickets in two deliveries.
With 139 runs on the board, two new batsmen http://www.senore.com/Cricket/D-Ramdin-c1299 were at the crease. They remained unbeaten until the end with a 29-run stand for the third wicket.
Bravo scored 18 runs off just nine balls with the help of a couple of sixes whereas the keeper batsman managed 11 runs off seven deliveries.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harry-Frederick-Gurney-c61806 was the only wicket-taker in the match for Leicestershire, as he dismissed both batsmen.
