LIVE – West Indies v Bangladesh: 2nd Test – Windies in control until lunch – Match Update
West Indies were in a comfortable position against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 until lunch on day four of the second Test of the tow match series at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur in Bangladesh on Tuesday, November 1, 2011.
The tourists reached 309 runs for the loss of four wickets, stretching their overall lead to 433 runs. The highlight of the innings was a magnificent ton from middle-order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386, who is still unbeaten on 151.
The 22-year-old brought his maiden ton up off the last ball on day three’s play. He continued his solid knock today morning as well and reached another milestone. He will now be aiming to reach a double-century, as there is plenty of time still left in the
match.
Alongside Bravo was the veteran Windies batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Chanderpaul-c2390, who was batting on 33 before the umpires called for lunch. He will look to keep on rotating the strike over to his younger partner at the other end.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KAJ-Roach-c1758 started proceeding on four.
The latter was unable to bat longer in the day, as he was dismissed after contributing 12 runs to the total. He did his job though, which was to survive the final few overs of yesterday’s last session.
Most of the time during his stay at the crease, Roach played defensively. However, the team needed him to play attacking cricket and the night watchman finally decided to shift gears. He advanced down the track and attempted to loft the ball out of the stadium.
However, the batsman failed to connect the ball with the middle of his bat and gave a simple catch to the long-off fielder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Naeem-Islam-c2053.
This was the only wicket to fall in the day for the tourists, as Bravo and Chanderpaul were solid as a rock. The team scored more than 100 runs in the session and it will be interesting to see when they declare.
West Indian skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 might be waiting for Bravo to complete his double-ton.
The only wicket to fall in the morning session was picked up by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Suhrawadi-Shuvo-c91688, who has now two wickets in the innings.
