West Indies are in deep trouble, losing some quick wickets in the middle of their innings against India in the first One Day International (ODI) of the five match series at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 on Tuesday, November 29, 2011.
The tourists started the innings in a bad way, losing three quick wickets for just 52 runs on the board. However, middle-order batsmen http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386 steadied the innings with a solid half-century partnership.
The pair was batting really nicely and guided the total to 127 with the help of a 75-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
However, Hyatt was unfortunate to be run-out after adding 31 runs to the total from 54 deliveries. He started off slowly, but was timing the ball perfectly after getting his eye set.
Unfortunately for the visitors, the fourth wicket partnership ended in the most unfortunate way. Hyatt wanted to take two runs off a cut shot from Bravo, but needed to listen to the call of his partner.
The 28-year-old turned blind and ignored the loud shout of ‘no’ from Bravo at the other end. He had no chance of returning back to the crease and had to walk back to the pavilion.
Bravo would have been upset with this, but continued to focus on batting, as he was the key man for the team.
The stylish left-handed batsman played some beautiful strokes and reached a half-century. He has been in terrific form in the recent times and scored two centuries in the recently concluded three match Test series against India.
However, the 22-year-old was unable to convert his fifty into three figures this time around, getting dismissed for 60 off 74 balls with the help of six fours.
Bravo was picked up by Raina, who bowled a very good quicker delivery to deceive the batsman. The ball hurried onto the batsman from good length and crashed into the stumps and the Windies were 154 for the loss of five wickets in 34.4 overs.
It will be extremely difficult for the tourists’ lower-order to score runs freely against the Indian spinners. They will also find it difficult to bat against pacers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umesh-Yadav-c94625.
