West Indies had a very good first session against India on day one of the third Test at the Wankhede Stadium, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 in India on Tuesday, November 22, 2011.
The tourists scored 80 runs without losing any wicket in the first session, as openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-Barath-c886 remained unbeaten on 35 and 37 respectively.
Although India have already won the three match series by 2-0, they will be hoping a clean sweep by winning the final Test as well.
However, the hosts would have liked to bat first on a flat batting pitch in Mumbai, but the opposition skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 won the toss and had no hesitation in mind to bat.
The Windies openers had earlier been troubled by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Varun-Aaron-c2744, who is making his debut in the longest version of the game.
Apart from that, the Indian side also made one batting change, as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Kohli-c2737, who will be eying to make most of the opportunity given by the selectors.
Yuvraj was not only dropped from the playing eleven, but was omitted from the squad for the final Test.
Talented right-handed batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RG-Sharma-c2309 was named in the squad in place of Yuvraj, but was not given a chance to prove his mettle today.
On the other hand, the Caribbean Kings also made a couple of changes for today, bringing in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KAJ-Roach-c1758.
The team made one forced change as well, as veteran batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kieran-Omar-Akeem-Powell-c71441, who was dropped from the side after failing to perform in the
opening Test of the series.
The West Indian openers will like to carry onto the start they have got to this innings in order to pressurise the opposition. The team’s real challenge will be to face the spinners, who have caused a lot of problems in the series.
