Bangladesh got off to a steady start against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 in the final One Day International (ODI) of the five-match series at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo in Zimbabwe on Sunday, August 21, 2011.
Toss was won by the home team’s skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BRM-Taylor-c1200 and he opted to field first. Although the pitch was excellent for batting, the Zimbabwean captain claimed his team liked to chase.
The pitch report suggested that toss would not matter in today’s game, as the conditions will remain same throughout the day. The wicket was hard and dry with some bounce for the bowlers. However, the bounce was not much which could cause problems for the
batsmen.

Kayes struggled to make a solid impression, as he was unable to rotate the strike over to his opening partner. He was dismissed after adding 9 runs to the total from 26 balls. There was no boundary struck by Kayes in his unimpressive outing. However, he
stayed long enough in the middle, providing a 30-run stand with Iqbal for the first wicket.

However, the exclusion of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Junaid-Siddique-c1749 made way for the veteran batsman in the team today. He offered some support to Iqbal, as the pair out together 40 runs for the second wicket partnership.
Ashraful looked well set in the middle and reached 15 runs off 24 balls with the help of three boundaries. He would have liked to carry onto the start to his innings, but was unable to do so, getting dismissed in the 17th over of the innings.
Just 9 runs later, Iqbal was also sent back to the pavilion. The flamboyant left-handed batsman collected 45 runs off 65 balls in his decent outing. He struck five boundaries during his stay at the crease. The tourists were 109/3 at the end of 25 overs.
