LIVE – Zimbabwe v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 – Zimbabwe Twenty20 Triangular Series (6th Match) – Match Update – Zimbabwe reach 56 for 4 by end of 10th over
Taking a step down in terms of performance as compared to the previous matches they have played in the series so far, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 lost four batsmen by the 10th over after reaching 56 against South Africa in the 6th match of the ongoing
Zimbabwe Twenty20 Triangular Series at the Harare Sports Club today on June 23.
Zimbabwe made just one change to their line-up prior to the game – substituting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 in the previous match, South Africa tinkered with their line-up too,
bringing seamer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Richard-Levi-c2315.
The hosts, all but guaranteed a spot in the series final, went into the match without any particular pressure (although they could find themselves out of the final if they lose by a big margin), but for the Proteas it is a must-win game, with both their
pride, and a chance to reach the final, at stake.
Zimbabwe got off to a fair start, winning the toss and electing to bat first in order to take full advantage of the pitch. The duo of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sibanda-c2740 (9) opened the innings for their side, and managed an opening stand that lasted
till the 4th over and yielded 29 runs.
Sibanda was dismissed, lbw, by Chris Morris, and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BRM-Taylor-c1200 followed him to the crease. However, the skipper was unable to make much of a contribution to his side’s total, and was sent back to the pavilion in the very next over on 1, caught out by Tsotsobe
at deep mid-on off http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RJ-Peterson-c2332.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/WD-Parnell-c2787 stepped in to deliver a fatal
blow to the home team – Masakadza was caught out by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Farhaan-Behardien-c56785, and Malcolm Waller, who followed him to the crease, was dismissed on duck 2 deliveries later.
With their confidence considerably dented, Zimbabwe attempted to recover with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/E-Chigumbura-c1411 (1) stepping up to join Matsikenyeri at the crease, and the two managed to get their side up to 56 by the end of 10 overs. With 4 wickets having fallen, Zimbabwe
will be counting on the pair to steady the innings and take them up to a fighting total by the end of 20 overs.
