LIVE match update, India v England – First innings report
RESULT: India 338 (49.5 ov), England 338/8 (50.0 ov) - Match tied
Despite a brilliant spell by Tim Bresnan at the depth of the innings, India has posted a mammoth total of 338 runs on the board before being bowled out in the last over of the innings in a crucial group ‘B’ clash of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. India proved once again that they were the most dangerous batting line-up in the world, especially on flat tracks. India's charge was led by batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar who scored his 47th hundred in One Day International cricket.

India was off to a flying start through http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virender-Sehwag-c95429 before he was caught behind of the bowling of Tim Bresnan. Tendulkar and Gambhir took control of the Indian innings from then onwards and scored 134 runs for the second wicket partnership. Yuvraj Singh was promoted in the batting order which worked for him and his team as he scored a quick half century. It was a good sign for the Indian team as he has been out form off-late.
Tendulkar scored 120 runs off 115 balls with the help of 10 fours and five towering sixes. He was a little sedate in the first half of his innings but made up for the lost time in style as he clubbed the English bowlers all round the ground. Gambhir also scored an impressive half-century while he was playing second fiddle to the little master. India lost six wickets in the last four overs; otherwise, the score could have been even bigger.
Tim Bresnan was the pick of the English bowlers as he picked up a five-wicket haul after giving away only 48 runs in 10 overs.
This is a huge score for the English team to chase under lights; however, the outfield is lightening quick and England has the potential to run http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 close in this all-important encounter.
