PAK 317/7 50 overs
A brilliant fight back led by the middle order batsmen took Pakistan to an imposing total of 317/7 batting first at Hambantota. The men in green were off to an appalling start yet made a fine comeback by a string of half centuries led by Umar Akmal.
Umar Akmal scored an unbeaten 71 to rescue the team along with his brother Kamran Akmal, Misbah Ul Haq and Younis Khan who all crossed the 50 runs mark.
Batting first the men in green lost two early wickets with Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez sent packing with the total at 12/2. Hafeez scored 9 runs while Ahmed was dismissed for a completely out of character 18 ball 1 run knock.
The Pakistanis were helped by an incredibly sloppy performance by the Kenyans who conceded as many as 46 extras, which included five wide fours as the Africans looked extremely jaded under pressure.
Kamran Akmal added 98 runs for the third wicket with Younis, he was dismissed for 55 runs off 67 balls his innings included 5 fours.
Younis Khan was dismissed immediately after making an exact 50, he also faced 67 balls striking 2 fours in his innings.

The two added 128 runs in their quick fire partnership that took the men in green past the 300 runs mark. Misbah was sent packing for 65 runs accumulated off 69 balls, his workman like innings included a single four and two massive sixes.
After his demise Umar Akmal took the attack to the opposition, he took full advantage of the power play fielding instructions smacking 71 off 52 balls his innings included 8 fours and 1 six.
The Pakistanis were helped by some clean hitting at the end as well as the continued indiscipline of the Kenyan bowlers and fielders, they ended up their quota at 317/7 which was a phenomenal recovery after being in big trouble at the start of the innings
