LONDON TUBE: Should I buy a 1 Day Zone 1 pass or an Oyster Card?

For 2 adults, 2 children sightseeing London for a day (Tower of London, Westminter, Big Ben, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace. Which would be cheaper? Thanks!

  1. Get yourself the day pass. To get an Oyster card you need photo ID, address etc etc. I think they are basically the same price. Oyster cards are just easier to top up and better for weekly, monthly tickets.


  2. You should be able to get a Groupsave travel card- it's a regular travel card but cheaper because you have two adults and two children. :]

  3. if you're only going to be in London for the one day, then the one day travelcard is best ... if you're going to be in London for a while, or you're coming back regularly, then it would make sense to get an Oyster card ... neither is cheaper, they are the same price, but you pay £3 deposit on your Oyster card and it is re-usable
