LOSC Lille eying AS Roma star Jeremy Menez as ideal replacement for Gervinho – Ligue 1 news

Jeremy Menez, currently on the books of Serie A side AS Roma, has long been touted for a move away from the Italian capital. Meanwhile, Gervinho is currently in advanced negotiations with representatives of English Premier League side, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. With the
departure of the Ivorian now looking imminent, Lille are making plans to find a replacement for the 24-year-old attacker.
Though Menez’s contract with the Lupi runs until the summer of 2012, a move away from Roma is likely as the player is no more looking to extend his stay at the club. Reports now suggest that Roma might let go of the highly-rated attacker if a good offer
is tabled. An amount in the region of 10 million Euros might be enough to acquire the Frenchman.
However, Lille will face tough competition in the race for Menez’s signature. Serie A champions, AC Milan, are reportedly keen on signing the 24-year-old. Furthermore, Ligue 1 giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 and cash-loaded Paris Saint-Germain are also considering
making a bid for the former AS Monaco man.

to fend off competition from other suitors.
Gervinho was an integral part of the Lille side that recorded its first domestic double in over 67 years, and his performances had already alerted some of the best clubs in Europe. However, Jeremy Menez could prove to be the perfect replacement of the African.
