LOSC Lille identify replacement for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755, face competition from Anderlecht – French Ligue 1 news
Newly-crowned French Ligue 1 champions, LOSC Lille have already started making arrangements for the imminent departure of Ivory Coast International, Gervinho. Rumours indicate that the 23-year-old Ivorian might leave Lille amidst interest from English Premier
League clubs. After an extensive search, Les Lillois have finally found a replacement.
25-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. The attacker is considered to be one of the best players in the Egyptian league and has scored one goal
in 16 appearances for the national team. In the 2010/11 season, Shikabala has scored 12 goals in 21 games for Zamalek. Belgian newspaper, La Derniere Heure, suggests that the residents of Villeneuve d’Ascq are ready to splash 3 million Euros for the player’s
services in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The move, should it materialise, will definitely be a surprising one as the Shikabala is an unknown entity in Europe. Lille will be playing UEFA Champions League next season and are looking to bring in a few more players to Stade Villeneuve d’Ascq. The Egyptian
International could be one of those faces who would be seen playing for Lille next season.
However, Lille might have to stave off stiff competition from Belgian giants, Anderlecht, who have been monitoring http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shikabala-c33342 long before the Egyptian came under Lille’s radar. The Belgians sold Mubarak Boussoufa to Russian side, Anzhi Makhachkala, in the
January transfer window and have been looking for a replacement to the Moroccan. If reports are to be believed, the Belgians have already made an offer for Shikabala.
It remains to be seen which club would get Shikabala’s signature but it can be expected that the 25-year-old would be playing in Europe next season. However, a move to Lille might not be a good one for Shikabala; he might be thrown into top-level football
too early for his liking and might not deliver the same performances that have made him a key player in Zamalek. A move to Anderlecht would be a better option for the Egyptian, as it would give him the right foundation to start adjusting to European football.
