LOSC Lille keeping a close eye on Nolan Roux of Stade Brestois

LOSC Lille are set to lose the services of Senegal international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 soon in order to represent his country in the upcoming African Cup of Nations. Reports now suggest that Rudi Garcia is now keeping a close eye
on Nolan Roux
Since the beginning of the 2010/2011 campaign, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 international Moussa Sow has been the spearhead of LOSC Lille’s attack. The 25-year-old scored 25 goals for Les Dogues last season as the side from Northern France went on to win the Ligue 1 title after
almost 50 years.
The departure of the Senegalese to the African Cup of Nations would certainly create some issues for coach Rudi Garcia. Currently, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ireneusz-Jelen-c17008 is the only fit striker available. However, Jelen has scored just two goals in 13 appearances
so far which means that Garcia can’t expect much from him.
Furthermore, Brazilian striker Tulio De Melo is once again sidelined with injury which means that Garcia should sign a new striker who can spearhead the Lille attack in the absence of Sow.
Earlier on, it was reported that Lille were keen on signing former Dijon striker Sebastian Ribas. However, the 23-year-old has now joined Portuguese side Sporting CP on a loan deal.
Reports now suggest that Lille have turned their attention towards Nolan Roux. The 23-year-old striker is currently under contract at fellow Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois where he scored three goals in as many games last December.
Nord Eclair indicates that Lille have already spoken to Roux but are yet to agree on the financial terms of the transfer with Stade Brest.
A sum of 6 million Euros has been cited in newspapers and some of that fee will go to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RC-Lens-c40322 where Roux played before signing for Brestois.
However, Stade Brestois will resolutely try holding on to their star striker. Last summer, Roux was on the verge of signing for German Bundesliga side Schalke 04. However, the Germans backed out after they found out that Roux had chosen to go AWOL for Brest
following the French side’s reluctance in accepting a transfer offer.
Even though, Nolan Roux has apparently been chosen as the right replacement for Sow by the Lille management, the club must be patient in their dealings with Stade Brestois.
