LOSC Lille keeping tabs on Mevlut Erdinç of Paris Saint-Germain – Ligue 1
In his quest for a new striker in the squad, reigning Ligue 1 champions LOSC Lille manager Rudi Garcia has identified Turkish International Mevlut Erdinç as his primary target.
The 24-year-old striker is currently on the books of Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain where it is believed that he would be offloaded by the end of the summer transfer window.
PSG have already brought in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international.
The arrival of a new striker would definitely see Erdinç’s playing time reduced so a move away from the Parc des Princes could be on the cards.
Lille have already signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pierre-c29989 Alain-Frau who left the club after the end of the 2010/2011 season.
Though Garcia was initially looking to bring in Korean international Chu-Young Park from AS Monaco, it now appears that the Frenchman is now diverting his attention towards Erdinç as Park is reportedly attracted towards a move to Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
According to French sports daily L’Equipe, chairman of Lille http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Seydoux is also a great admirer of Erdinç and is keen on bringing the 24-year-old to the club before the transfer window closes.
Erdinç has said a lot of times that he is willing to stay at the capital club and fight for his place in the starting XI but a lot can change in the coming days. Furthermore, with Lille playing in the Champions League next season, Erdinç might be inclined towards a move to a club where he might be able to get regular playing time.
The former Sochaux man was not very prolific for Les Parisiens last season and scored just eight goals in 22 Ligue 1 outings. However a move to Stade Metropole might change all this.
