Furthermore, the 25-year-old
has been linked with a move away from the club this January and Garcia had been keeping tabs on Roux who is seen as the ideal replacement for Sow.
Stade Brestois have also confirmed the new of the striker’s departure. Nolan Roux was linked with a move away from the club last summer and Bundesliga side Schalke 04 had already entered into negotiations with Brest. However, due to the slow nature of discussions,
Roux chose to go on striker due to which Schalke pulled out of the move.
Though Brest president, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Guyot was not impressed with his player’s actions, the Frenchman has now decided to let go of the youngster.
“I am at peace with my conscience. I was obviously perturbed last summer with the player. I wondered if I did not do wrong to put a brake in his career. It happened to me as an employee and I wanted to quit but my boss did not let me go so I know what I’m
talking about. I want to thank Nolan. He played a major role in getting us to Ligue 1. We wish him well, but we will put a little clause (on his contract) to prevent him from playing us in April. I would also like to thanks Michel Seydoux for how he led the
discussion in discretion.”
The young striker has so far scored four goals in the season but could be expected to score more given the midfield quality in Rudi Garcia’s side. By joining Lille, Roux has certainly taken the next step in his career which could take off in the second half
of the campaign especially if http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Moussa-Sow-c26939 leaves.
