After some intense negotiations, the 2011 Ligue 1 champions have completed the signing of the Cape Verde international
Announced as a priority target for LOSC Lille for several weeks, Ryan Mendes de Graca has officially signed a contract with Les Dogues.
For quite some time now, it was public knowledge that Rudi Garcia was very keen on acquiring the services of Mendes. However, without substantial resources, the Mastiffs were unable to meet the requirements of Ligue 2 side Le Havre who have been very greedy
in their dealings with clubs interested in the 22-year-old.
So, the northerners had to wait to qualify for this season’s edition of UEFA Champions League in order to get back to Le Havre with a better offer. With Lille set to play for the big-eared trophy this season, they were in a position to try their luck again.

A statement indicated that the youngster from Cape Verde has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the club.
“LOSC Lille has expanded its workforce by completing the arrival of Le Havre striker Ryan Mendes (born 01/08/1990). The Cape Verdean international has committed to Lille for a period of four seasons, until 2016.”
The youngster has committed to four seasons at the Grande Stade Lille Metropole. Les Dogues coach, Rudi Garcia is also delighted at having been able to attain the player’s services.
“The arrival of Ryan is a great satisfaction, because we followed this guy for quite some time. Everyone knows his qualities, he is a young player who we believe in much, we want to work for the future,” said a jubilant Garcia while talking to reporters.
