LOSC Lille star Gervinho in advanced negotiations with Arsenal – Ligue 1 news
Reports in France suggest that newly-crowned Ligue 1 champions LOSC Lille’s star, Gervinho, is currently in advanced talks with English Premier League side Arsenal over a possible move to the London club this summer.  The Cote d’Ivoire attacker was the driving
force behind Lille’s Ligue 1 triumph this season.
A few weeks back, Gervinho said that he is looking to stay on at Lille for one more season before moving on to a new club. However, it now appears that the 24-year-old attacker is nearing the exit doors of Stade Metropole. The highly-rated attacker helped
Lille to their first domestic double in almost 67 years this season. Reports initially suggested that Gervinho might stay at Lille if he’s offered a new contract for one more year but reports now suggest that the player is in talks with Arsenal.
While talking to the media, Lille general director, Frederic Paquet, said that Gervinho has decided to leave Lille and is currently in talks with Arsenal before adding that a transfer fee has not been discussed yet.
Ambitious fellow Ligue 1 outfit, Paris Saint-Germain, were also interested in Gervinho but Pacquet said, "Paris Saint-Germain have made an inquiry, but we have no intention of selling to domestic rivals. Gervinho chose to leave for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, so that limits
the options. We will soon meet with Arsenal and see what they offer. He clearly is a player of value."

Reports further suggest that Tottenham Hotspur offered Lille 12 million Euros for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 but the French club turned the offer down. The Ivorian’s contract at the club expires in the summer of 2012 and a fee of 15 million Euros is considered to be enough
to secure the attacker’s signature.
Meanwhile, Pacquet has once again reiterated Lille’s decision of not selling http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863, this summer. While talking to the journalists, the general director clearly said that the youngster will stay at Lille for the next season and
added that only a really good offer could force the club to let go of Hazard. The Belgian international’s strong performances for Lille this season have made the player one of the most highly sought-after players in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid,
Bayern Munich and Serie A giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan are keen on signing the youngster.
