Question:

LOST KITTEN PLEASE HELP!!!!!!?

6 days ago I found 2 stray kittens in my backyard. They're both from the same litter and are 6 weeks old. While I was going into the backyard today one of them ran off! She's very skittish and terrified of people and loud noises. Her brother is inside my house meowing for her. I just wonder if she'll come back...when I first decided to take her in her brother came easy but she took a lot of persuading since she was so scared of me. She isn't spayed (even though I think she's too young for that) nor has she had her routine shots. I have food outside in the backyard as well as some water. I'm going to take all the other necessary steps to find her like notifying neighbors etc. etc. But my question is do you think she'll come back on her own? Is she old enough to remember where my house is? Do you think she'll come back being as scared of people as she is?

She's only comfortable around her brother and is 1000x's more scared without him, I'm sure she's looking for him. So should I let him outside to see if he can find her? Do you think he'll be able to smell her or vice-versa??

I know I should have been more responsible!><

  1. I think I'd take her brother outside for 15 minutes every hour tonight to see if she hears or smells him and comes back.

I wouldn't let him go and try to find her though for fear that he'll get lost too.

I'm wondering how you know they're 6 weeks old. Normally a 6 week old kitten wouldn't be weaned yet. Are you sure the little female didn't find her way back to the momma cat? Definitely talk to all of the neighbors you can. A kitty that young couldn't go too far on his own.

  2. the only thing you can do is go looking for her and as you said notify neighbors if you let her brother out he might run away to.

  3. Wow! I would not let him out, or you might end up mourning 2 kittens instead of just one! Put up posters /signs asking people to help you find her, if you have a picture, better! Good luck!

  4. I agree with the other posters about placing the brother in a safe carrier/cage so she can come find him, and definitely place some wet food out. Walk around the yard with it so the scent will carry and she will know the food is there. But don't leave the food unattended at night, since that may attract raccoons and sometimes raccoons eat kittens. Good luck.

  5. you should let him outside so he can smell her scent!then maybe he will find her! =]

  6. NO don't put your cat outside alone put the kitten in a cage and the other kitten if she is not far away will come running

    good luck

  7. you were not being irresponsible, don't be so hard on yourself, I would get a kennel or a small cage, and put the boy in it hopefully he will meow loud enough, it will get her to come back, don't leave him out there just do this for a few minutes a day, hopefully she will hear him and come back, put some canned food, out for her, or even some canned tuna,

good luck, I hope you get her back soon

  8. Cats Tend To Have Different Homes A Cat showed up at my backyard a couple of months back it was only a couple of weeks and it ate and slept in our garage for a week and went home and a couple of days later showed up again now it sleeps in the garage everyday, maybe it went back dunno if u shud let the other one out in case it does go missing also
