  1. Ive had this happen with one of my 2 russian hamsters once. He was an escape artist and the cage door wasnt shut properly, he crawled out and would have bounced to the floor and run away. Mine was missing in my room for 8 days before i heard wierd scratching noises coming from under my bedroom floorboards (which at the time had a gap in, which he obviously went down).

I pulled the boards up to make a bigger hole and there he was, dirty and dusty but very well and healthy.

So food is always a good option, but remember hamsters are nocturnal and may be at night he would sneak to get the food which is what i found out when the bowl had been moved when i did it with my hamster.

I would check any gaps in floor boards, etc and other rooms in the house incase he is hiding somewhere dark for example a wardrobe or something.

    Good luck

EDIT: Ahh thats good that you found him!! bless x

  2. look in other rooms just incase. there is always that posibility

  3. Good luck you found him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Don't worry he will show up. Just put a pile of food in a corner and keep an eye on it. hewill probably show up.

  5. just follow the bad smell in a couple of days

  6. This is very common. Russian hamsters are very fast and hard to catch if lost. Try putting food somewhere in your room. Remember it might have gone somewhere else besides your room.

  7. food always works. you just need to keep a really close eye on the food so that the hamster doesnt sneak it and run back away without you knowing. i would try cheese or some crackers or chips. nuts might also work. something that has a pretty strong smell. once i lost my hamster in this opening under the cabinet and he finally came out because i held food in my hand and just layed it under there.i think i used a grape. have you checked all the openings around your room? maybe you could also try and lay out a wad of kleenex or toilet paper because if he has made this new place his home then he is going to be looking for something to rip up for a nest.

    hope you find him! :)

  8. my hamster got out a few days ago she was in the place she always goes when she is in her ball (the closet) maybe try the spot ur hamster seems curious or tries to get to that spot when he goes in his ball or when u take him out GOOD LUCK!

  9. oh those are small ok in the middle of your room or an open space leave a bunch or lettuce carrots ect. and it will problly come out to eat it then quickly grab it.
