LOST: what are your thoughts on Danielle Rousseau? *tiny spoiler*?

so...what are your thoughts on Danielle Rousseau?

i think she's Ben's childhood sweetheart, Annie.

the girl who carved Ben wood figures of them for his birthday.

Rousseau said her and her colleagues crashed onto the island while searching for the source of a signal (the signal being a voice repeating the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42).

but something doesn't seem right with her.

the writers for LOST are always pulling the ol' switcheroo on us.

and Rousseau's had had 16 years to perfect her "alibi".

i think she did crash onto the island, but got "sick" in the process.

and maybe now she has amnesia and simply adopted a new personality (that of a french woman).

what do you guys think?

it's ben confirmed by the writers @ comic-con that Rousseau will indeed have a backstory in season 5.

remember when Ben was first caught in Rousseau's trap in season 2?

we'll see how that all went down as well.

i can't wait for this show to come back.

Annie had a typical American accent.  Rousseau is French.  Unless Annie deliberately faked her accent every time she spoke, they're different people.

I think there is certainly a lot we don't know about Danielle's backstory, and I'm very excited to see her episode.

But I don't think that she is Ben's childhood sweetheart. I'm quite sure that little girl grew up to be the anthropologist, Charlotte, that arrived on the island with Naomi, Daniel and Miles. Same accent, same reddish hair, and she seems to know a lot more about Dharma and the island than she is letting on.

As for Danielle, I can't figure out what her deal is. Ben really seemed to treat Alex as his real daughter, and I don't doubt for a second that Danielle was her mother. Her backstory should really make a great episode.

i think rousseau and ben were lovers. has she ever denied ben as being the father? i have all seasons on DVD, cant wait for season four to come out. and that INSANE about the season 5 rousseau flashback...exciting

I think that the theory that "Danielle" is "Annie" is totally lame and bogus.
