LPG Methane?

if you have an LPG system on a car is it posssible to also run Methane on the same system, ie fill the tanks with the stuff? and it run Ok, It should be I think, but I thought I would ask

  1. Methane is all natural how it comes, LPG comes from refinement of the oil, so i would think not, you would have to adapt the car filters and combustion system to handle none refinement of the oil used

  2. The cost to install a LPG system to a car costs much more than what you will save on fuel costs.

    A car requires a custom built, crash-proof tank that's very expensive.

    Also LPG doesn't work with outside temperatures below freezing

    and the cost of LPG is only slightly below what gasoline if you do the conversion per pound of LP to a gallon of gas

  3. No, the two will require different sized orifices at least. You would need a double system for that, which would be an excellent idea, except for the weight of the extra tank or tanks required.

  4. LPG Liquefied petroleum gas, Methane as far as I am aware is purely a gas . So the system would not cater for the different propensity.
