Some friends and I all love golf and we live in Illinois. Well the State Farm Classic is going to be in Springfield Illinois July 17-20. Does anyone know or have an idea of what LPGA golfers will be playing at this classic? Cause we're not going to waist the gas to drive up their if some of the golfer's we like are not going to be playing. So does anyone have any idea's?

  1. The Duramed Futures Tour was just in Decatur, IL on June 12-15, and this weekend they're in Hammond, IN (near Chicago?). The Futures Tour has several former LPGA players on their roster, including 5 or 6 from the current Big Break show, and several from the previous Big Break's (duramedfuturestour.com). While you won't see Lorena or Annika there, you will be able to get right next to the pro's and see some fantastic golf too!

  2. Your decision might have to wait because the field won't be announced for a couple of weeks yet. However, Vicky Hurst and Michelle Wie have been awarded sponsor's exemptions. Here's the press release for Wie: http://www.lpgastatefarmclassic.com/docs...

Monitor the tournament web site for the field when it is released: http://lpga.com/tournament_microsite.asp...

That second link will show "Final Field" next to "Pairings" when it's posted.

If you want to monitor other news about the tourney itself, check this site on a daily basis: http://www.lpgastatefarmclassic.com/inde...

Have a great time if you go. Don't forget that the Solheim Cup will be in Sugar Grove in August 2009.

  3. Too early to tell, they won't all commit until a couple weeks beforehand.  Check the tournament website about next week and they should have the pairings.
