LPGA signs a two-year extension with Language Training Centre
The Ladies Professional Golf Association has extended its partnership with the Language Training Centre to two more years.
President of LTC Martin George disclosed the news in a press conference on Wednesday. He said, “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with the LPGA and we look forward to building on the success we experienced last year working with both LPGA and Futures
Tour players and staff members.”
LPGA is an organisation that functions all around the world and has players from each continent. The players have different languages and different culture. Such training centres help in uniting all the players under the same banner.
Moreover, the players have to go to different parts of the world; therefore, it becomes easier to communicate with the players from host countries. Therefore, the LPGA Cross-Cultural Development Program was started to assist the LPGA professionals as they
travel.
LPGA Chief Communications Officer David Higdon elaborated on the agenda behind the deal and said, “The Language Training Centre is an essential component of the LPGA Cross-Cultural Development Program. Our organizations both share the belief that understanding
and embracing cultures and languages is an essential attribute for individuals working and competing in the global community.”
The success of the program can be measured through the number of professionals taking part in it. Na Yeon Choi, Il Kwon Kim, Vicky Hurst and Beatriz Recari are few of the many names benefiting from the program.
Associations such as Language Training Centre have been helping businesses, media firms and sports entities in learning the culture and norms of a country apart from the language. This helps in building a bridge between the different cultures and hence assists
in strengthening the backbone of the organisation.
Since the LPGA operates throughout the United States of America and 25 other countries, therefore it is essential for the golfers to know and understand each other and such programs are definitely a great help.
