LPGA star Paula Creamer to play Kingsmill Championship 2012
American Paula Creamer, who is regarded as one of the most talented LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) stars, has been confirmed to join the field of the coming Kingsmill Championship 2012, set to
be played from September 6-9, at Williamsburg, Virginia.
Creamer, who strikes fear into her rivals with her unmatched putting skills, did not participate in the last edition of the Kingsmill Championship, held in 2009. The tournament was played under the name of
Michelob Ultra Open from 2004 to 2009.
American Cristie Kerr won the last edition of the LPGA tournament, and now the coming edition is also going to see her put her skills to the test. In addition to Kerr, the field of Kingsmill Championship 2012
will also include South Korean Se Ri Pak who won the 2004 edition of the tournament, Lexi Thompson of the United States, Brittany Lang, Brook Pancake and others.
Creamer is trying hard to win an event in the current season, but unfortunately she has not been able repeat what she did at the US Women’s Open in June 2010. She had won the major tournament by four strokes,
outperforming her nearest rivals South Korean Na Yeon Choi and Suzann Pettersen.
Now, with the Kingsmill Championship set to be staged in September this year, it has become increasingly crucial for the American star to prove her mettle and start adding victories to her profile once again.
Analysts said that since the field of coming battle will be featuring two past winners, Kerr and Pak, it will not be easy for Creamer to clinch a victory with ease. Kerr and Pak rank among the most experienced
LPGA contenders, and beating them will require a solid plan and resilience.
Although Creamer is putting her best forward in a bid to end her victory drought in the current season, her performance in the Evian Masters 2012 reflects that the rising star is able to rattle big names.
The 25-year-old American finished tied for the ninth position at the Evian Masters 2012 — an event best known for its formidable field.
Analysts also said that how tough the field at the Kingsmill Championship may be, Creamer is eager to prove her worth this time by ending her protracted victory drought.
