Ok DrMcG. I know you are out there. This is not just for DrMcG to answer. I have just noticed that he gives(or she) gives advice on here a lot. I have a question about the prep courses. Currently I have been self studying for about 1 1/2 months. I have the Powerscore Logic Bibles. On my tests I consistenly am getting about 50% right of the ones that I answer. I am seriously considering taking a prep course to be ready for October test. Which prep course (kaplan...powerscore..etc) do you suggest. Also can I realistically expect my score to raise? I have to admit I am just the average guy with the average learning style, if that matters any.

  1. Thanks for taking note! If you have read my answers, then you know which side of this question I'll come down on. Regardless, the choice is up to you and you have to go with the company you feel most comfortable with.

I can tell you that your situation is not abnormal, and you can and should expect to get better. The whole point of a class is to instill the correct methods within you, and to help you best understand how to apply those methods and techniques while under time pressure. The dilemma of going faster while at the same time answering a high percentage of questions correctly is one that is a constant point of discussion in class. Working with an instructor who can show you how to apply the techniques, and who can also observe what you do correctly and incorrectly, helps make that process happen.

I'll let others weigh in, but good luck with your choice!
