Question:

LSC Funding Skills for Life?

I am going to work for a training provider as a skills for life trainer pretty soon. The training provider basically runs on LSC funding and I have been told that to gain LSC Funding for Skills for Life, you need to have employed with you a member of staff who has a level 5 award in SFL. Does anyone know if this is true?

  1. Hi there,

Yes, as a funding requirement from 2007 all new Skills for Life teachers, including those working for training providers will have to gain a Level 5 teaching qualification known as DTLLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) plus a subject specialist qualification in their subject matter (Language, Literacy or Numeracy), which in turn is called the additional diploma.

Hope this helps and good luck.
