La Aguada has been succeeded to clinch the victory in the crucial finals of Chamber of Deputies Cup against emerging Magual Dona Pilar at the Abierto De Palermo situated in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The event-deciding game was extremely aggressive throughout, where La Aguada overpowered Magual Dona Pilar by 10-9 and acquired the title of the Chamber of Deputies Cup the tournament conceived a step before the Argentina Open Polo Championship.
Seventeen foursomes having 24 to 30 handicaps participated in the tournament, which commenced back on 16 November. Chamber of Deputies Cup is most renowned tournament not only in Argentina but also across the globe which was firstly played in 1924.
Some of the notable teams which took part in the 17-team event were La Aguada, La Quinta Beaufort, Magual Dona Pilar, La Matera, Sol de Agosto, Black Watch, La Virgencita and Loro Piana.
La Aguada and Magual Dona Pilar the finalist foursomes were comprised of Julio Novillo Astrada (8), Ezequiel Martinez Ferrario (7), Manuel Crespo (7) Alejandro Novillo Astrada (8) and Marcos Di Paola (8), Lucas Di Paola (7), Diego Cavanagh (7) and Joaquin
Pittaluga (7) respectively.
As per the expectations of critics, La Aguada defeated Magual Dona Pilar after a tough competition as the teams had legendary strikers.
The match was started at very high tone enlaced with attacks and counterattacks, fouls, penalty hits and the goals as well. Manuel Crespo of La Aguada firstly scored a pair of goals for his team and put Magual Dona Pilar under intense pressure.
Magual Dona Pilar started speedy game in the second chukker in order to equalise the score and succeeded to do so. Marco Di Paola levelled the score in the second chukker by two goals of which one was taken on penalty shot while the other from the field.
Within the minutes, Diego Cavanagh put Magual ahead by scoring another goal, 3-2.
The third frame of the game was quite hitting as La Aguada’s players availed numerous chances and upped the lead of the team. Ezequiel Martinez Ferrario scored a pair of goals while his team-mates scored one goal apiece. The opponent foursome, Magual could
only score one goal in the third frame.
The duo teams entered in the fourth chukker with a result of 7-4. Both the teams could only score one goal each in the fourth set and scored reached 8-5.
The fifth chukker was also very thrilling as Magual Dona Pilar returned into the game and achieved four classic goals. Cavanagh firstly scored a goal on penalty shot followed by three consecutive goals of Marco Di Paola. The face of the scoreboard was completely
changed in the fifth chukker and match entered into a more interesting phase. La Aguada remained scoreless in the frame.
La Aguada gained the equality again in the sixth chukker by a goal of Manuel Crespo while the opponent Magual could not score in the frame. Many shots of the players from the both sides were missed and blocked in the 6th frame as both wanted to
make the set decisive.
La Aguada and Magual Dona Pilar entered into the final chukker at nine all, where La Aguada succeeded to mark a goal and clinched the Chambers of Deputy Cup. The final and winning goal was scored by Julio Novillo Astrada.
Top scorer of the match was Manuel Crespo with seven goals accompanied by three goals of Ezequiel Martinez Ferrario. Alejandro Novillo Astrada and Julio Novillo Astrada scored two and one goal apiece.
On the other side, Marcos Di Paola marked six goals while his team-mate Diego Cavanagh scored three goals in the losing side.
