  1. i live there, i am a kid, (14) but i know my stuff very well. The only naighborhoods that are dangerous on a regular basis are the ones way up in hills, San Judas is famous for being dangerous, ONLY the low, low, low class people live there, including gang memebers, but Tourists never go there (theres nothing to see there). Honduras isnt any more dangerous than the USA, its just everyone hears about what happes arround here cuz its so small. People hardly ever kill without a cause, and there arent any vandalizers or big gangs, infact they are only two gangs in the whole country. It is TOTALLY safe to walk arround down town, and unless ur into drug dealing, or kidnaping ur just as safe here as u would be anywhere else, if not safer. La Ceiba is one of the safest cities in Honduras, it has earned a bad reputation because of the drug dealing, but it is them who are at risk, not anyone else. While ur in La Ceiba, i recomend u visit Pico Bonito, Cuero y Salado, Sambo Creek. For restaurants, my favorite is Cheff Guity, by the rompe olas, (taxi drivers know where it is) and u should listen to Guillermo Anderson, the most recognized Honduran artist who is 100% Ceibeño(from La Ceiba) Try casabe and pan de coco, and if u can, go to cayos cochinos too.
