La Dolfina Dubai looking to earn more laurels in the Argentina Open Polo Championship
After making a straight second victory with a heavy margin in the Argentina Open Polo Championship, La Dolfina Dubai is looking for more laurels in the third-leg tournament of the Triple Crown.
Following a 23-10 victory over Chapa Uno Hope Funds, La Dolfina outplayed Pilar Piaget by 20-7 in the second encounter of the championship.
All polo pros of the La Dolfina foursome shared their experiences with Livingpolo.com after the match.
Adolfo Cambiaso, one of the legendary players in the world, stated that they can further improve their game in search of better results.
Explaining the tactics of the recently played game, Cambiaso said that they started playing with an average performance. He, however, said that La Dolfina gradually improved its game and took the results into their favour midway through the match.
In his view, La Aguada’s defeat at the hands of Chapa Uno Hope Funds in the absence of Miguel Novillo Astrada was not a surprise at all.
He also commented about the upcoming game against La Aguada saying, “We need to play well as a team, hitting the ball just like we've been doing so. We don't need to change many things; we have to continue as up to now”.
Juan Martin Nero, who joined hands with La Dolfina after quitting Ellerstina, displayed an outstanding game against Pilara Piaget.
He opined that La Dolfina did not make many fouls that helped it in keeping the opponents at bay during most part of the game. He added that they availed all the opportunities they created during the eight-chukka play.
In his view, the defence-line of La Dolfina also played a vital role in earning the heavy margin victory. Nero maintained that they will uphold the same level of performance against La Aguada.
He expressed amazement on the result of the match between La Aguada and Chapa Uno. He believed that the Chapa Uno foursome was quite wonderful and that it can make upsets at anytime.
He underlined, “The matches have to be played. We have to return next Saturday, get on the field, and see what happens. Before playing, you don't win a match”.
David Stirling, another player of La Dolfina, said that they contested the entire game focusing on a heavy margin win.
He opined that concentration was a major factor behind their victory against Pilara Piaget. He further said that they should not take any team for granted, as they all (teams) qualified for the championship after tough competitions.
In reply to a query about the eight goals of Cambiaso, Stirling said that he will have to be born again to meet Cambiaso’s calibre.
He underlined that a good opening and powerful horses will ensure their win over La Aguada in the forthcoming match. A victorious mindset will surely help La Dolfina in achieving its aims.
