La Dolfina Dubai satisfied with maiden victory in the Argentina Open Polo Championship
By winning the first game of the Argentina Open Polo Championship, La Dolfina Dubai proved its resilience in the third-leg tournament of the Triple Crown, underway at the Cathedral of Polo, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
La Dolfina Dubai, under the captaincy of Adolfo Cambiaso, lifted the title in the Hurlingham Open Polo Championship, the second-leg tournament. Unluckily, it lost the finals of the Tortugas Open Polo Championship to Ellerstina, the first-leg event of the
Triple Crown.
In the opening encounter of the Argentina Open Polo Championship, Adolfo Cambiaso and Juan Martin Nero came in the limelight nine and seven times, respectively, from La Dolfina’s side.
Following the match, the duo talked with the media and shared their views about the maiden competition.
Cambiaso was of the opinion that they played the game very well, scoring many goals in the eight-chukka of play. In his view, the heavy-margin victory was necessary to start off the event on a great note.
Expressing immense joy, he stated that the field was terrific and in an incredible condition. At the same time, he was optimistic about the forthcoming fixture.
He explained, “What we're expecting from the next match is a win, no matter which team we play against. To win, play well, and have fun. The horses lacked a bit of rhythm because I wasn't able to practice them during the week, but in general terms they did
alright”.
It is worth highlighting here that Cambiaso received fractures in his ribs but still played the complete game. He, however, stated that he is in better condition and will contest the second game with the same zeal and zest.
Meanwhile, Juan Martin Nero also spoke with the journalists and shared his experiences. He opined that they began the game in quite a good manner, and they closed the play in a similar way.
The horses, he commented, were with them since Hurlingham Open Polo Championship. In his view, they are in fine shape and will further improve in the upcoming games.
He commented about teamwork saying, “By the way we're playing, the idea is to not change our system because it works well and we play better this way. So we have to continue this way”.
In the next game, La Dolfina will take on Pilara Piaget, on November 26.
