Following their exit from the UEFA Champions League, Real Madrid travelled to Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, to take on Sevilla on Saturday, May 7th.
This La Liga clash was a must win for Madrid to keep their hopes of catching up with league leaders, Barcelona, alive.
Even though, initially it seemed that it would be a highly contested match, Madrid went on to make short work of Sevilla, beating them by six goals to two.

Dominating in the early proceedings of the game, Real Madrid won a corner. Mesut Ozil, the German international, stepped up to take the set-piece and bent in an inch perfect cross.
Sergio Ramos rose highest to meet the delivery with a powerful header that sailed comfortably into the back of the net. As a result, Madrid took the lead early, in the 21st minute of the game.

The third goal for Madrid came in the 42nd minute of the game. Ozil went on to play the Brazilian playmaker, Kaka, with a brilliant pass on the edge of the penalty area.
Kaka then took his time as he went on to bend an unstoppable shot past the keeper, into the goal. Hence, Madrid was leading the game by three goals to nil at the end of the first half.
The way Madrid was playing was clearly sending a message to everyone who didn’t support them in the controversial Champions League meetings with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605.
Regardless, Jose Mourinho was likely to ask his men to replicate their first half game in the second at the half time break.
On the other hand, despite only playing one half of the game, Sevilla seemed to be in no state of getting anything out of the game.
