La Liga Match Report: Real Madrid vs Almeria – Part 1

However, going into the game, both sides had nothing to play for. Real Madrid were guaranteed to finish in the second spot in the league, while on the other hand, Almeria were guaranteed relegation.
Nonetheless, despite that fact Madrid were not looking to hold anything back as they were fielding one of their most attacking formations to date. At the same time, Ronaldo having won the Pichichi already, was looking to score his 39th goal of the season and become the holder of the covenanted record, for scoring the most goals in a single La Liga season.
The match kicked off with Madrid taking to the field in their traditional white kits, while Almeria were fielding their red and white stripes.
