La Liga News – 9 Champions from Barca

The FIFA World Cup 2010 has come to an end. There have been heartbreaks for some while the others' hearts have pounced with joy as the Spaniards won the FIFA World Cup 2010. Even though the Spaniards brought home the World Cup and became heroes in the eyes of their nation, Pep Guardiola's side, Barcelona, could not be kept out of the scene.

We all know that most of the Spanish team was from the Spanish Club Barcelona as they came out on top of all the other nations. The club made a new record as they had sent 8 players in the international team and 7 of them actually started for the final of the FIFA World Cup 2010.

Even though 7 of the players in the line-up of the Spanish side were from the Catalan giants' side; 9 of them belonged to Barca's youth team. The Catalan giants have produced many players and this year round they've proved themselves to be the "stars" of the football world.

From the fourth tier, Sergio Busquets, who is only 22 and Pedro, who is 23, were playing for the Spanish fourth division. Currently both of them have shown how great they are by playing in the international team of Spain. They both have risen to prove their worth.

Besides this, three players from Barcelona have won every trophy that is available to them. The best midfielder in the world Xavi along with Iniesta and the defender Carles Puyol, have been the most successful Barcelona players so far. They have won the European Championship along with the 6 titles that Barcelona won in 2009 and now they have won the World Cup, meaning in total they have 8 titles available and they have won it all. These three are the "house of medals" for Barcelona.

Besides these players, there have been others who have won the FIFA World Cup, either when they were with Barca or were a part of it after or before the World Cup. The Uruguayan international Hector Scarone, who helped them win the 1930 FIFA World Cup, was in the Catalan club. The Argentinean legend Diego Maradon helped his team win the 1986 World Cup and he was a Barcelona player as well. The French star who is now a "villain" in the eyes of many, Theirry Henry has won the FIFA World Cup 1998 with the likes of Zineddine Zidane and he is currently playing to Barcelona and is planning to leave for the American team New York Red Bulls. The Brazilian Legend Ronaldo, who scored the highest number of goals and still holds a record of the FIFA World Cup highest goal scorers along with Miroslav Klose, was a Barcelona player as well and won the 2002 FIFA World Cup for his team along with many others. The other Brazilian player Ronaldinho who is famous for his skills on the pitch was also a Barcelona player as he helped them win the 2002 World Cup as well. Besides these Brazilians, the Italian player Zambrotta also played for Barcelona once and he won the title for the Italians during his peak time.

Barcelona has been one of the most successful clubs in the history of the game. They have produced amazing players as seen by the fans and they have proved themselves time and time again. Although their current rivals, Real Madrid, have a better history, but the Catalan giants have produced better players then the Galactacos.

This season Barcelona is going to face a tough competition against Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid; but at the moment almost all the Barcelona players, except the Argentinean Lionel Messi, are happy about their win in the final of the FIFA World Cup 2010.
