La Liga news: Juan Mata expected to renew Valencia contract

The 22 year old prodigy from Spain Juan Mata was expected to commit an extension contract at the Spanish club Valencia despite speculation that the star could possibly join a superpower in the football world.
Sources have revealed that Valencia’s star winger is on the verge of confirming a new contract with the Els Taronja. Right now the negotiation process is taking place in which the main agenda would be the wages of Mata along with
number of years he will have to sign.
Earlier Valencianistas’ forward told that he is hopeful the talks would result in everyone’s favour. He stated that soon enough pen will be put to paper, finalizing the deal so there was nothing Valencia fans should be worried
about.
It is expected that a long term deal will result from the negotiations between Mestalla and Mata and the player described it to be quite fruitful. He also said that he is very pleased to see the commitment and trust the Valencia
board are showing towards him; therefore he is very hopeful for the prospect of playing in their name in future.
While last season Valencia finished at 3rd in the Spanish La Liga, they have stepped up their performance even more proving that they can do better. Not only that, but they have done so despite the transfers of their
star players the “Davids”.
This summer Valencia sold off their two star forwards; David Silva and David Villa to Manchester City and Barcelona respectively. The David Villa deal happened to be the most expensive deal of the season at 40 million pounds.
Now Valencia are leading the La Liga table having played 6 matches, won 5 and drawn 1.  In the process they have accumulated 16 points and acquired a goal difference of +7.
On the renewal of the contract Mata stated, “The club offered me this contract because they trust me and that is something I am completely satisfied with, they are happy with my job, but my representative (his father, Juan) handles
the contract matters.”

He expressed that he was satisfied with the club’s performance with his relations with the board, “The truth is that I'm very happy that they trust in me. It will be a great joy to sign soon, the truth is that there is willingness on both sides to resolve my
future with Valencia. I'm happy, everything is on the right track and hopefully it will be resolved soon.
