“La Liga ‘not’ a two-horse race” – Rival bosses Mourinho and Guardiola on the same page for a change
Barcelona and Real Madrid were both put through a tough test in the Spanish La Liga over the weekend.
While Barcelona lead the game 2-0 in the first half, they went too easy on Real Sociedad in the second and the home side were able to pull two back as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
The two points dropped by Josep Guardiola’s men were vital for them as they are trying to win their fourth La Liga on the run and also trying to prove that they are one of the best sides in the history of the game.
Real Madrid had the opportunity to take advantage of the draw which http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 picked up in the earlier game. Jose Mourinho, despite having a few players back from international break; decided to play his strongest side. It was a tough match for Los Blancos
who took an early lead but Getafe were simply not the side who were looking to give up easily.
Despite scoring the first goal of the game, Getafe pulled one back. However, Madrid were pressing very high and made it hard for the Getafe defence line.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Benzema-c20350 scored to make the score line 3-1 in favour of Madrid.
Despite scoring the third goal of the game, Getafe pulled another goal back and made the score line 3-2. However, Gonzalo Higuain scored a late goal to make the final score line 4-2 in favour of Madrid who, despite winning the game; had to face a tough opposition.
Jose Mourinho and Josep Guardiola had to say the same thing about the Spanish La Liga after their particular fixtures.
Josep Guardiola said:
"They talk of a league of only two teams and this shows contempt to the others who are doing better and better and demonstrating their desire to beat us."
On the other hand, Jose Mourinho simply agreed to what Josep Guardiola said after Barcelona’s game against Real Sociedad. Mourinho said:
"Maybe the players were drunk on too much information and news about how easy the league would be and in the end it made things complicated,"
He further added:
"All these teams that are supposed to be bad I don't agree.”
The Villarreal president said in a press conference that Barcelona and Real Madrid are killing Spanish football. He talked how these two are far better than all the other teams in the league. Many supported his point of view but Guardiola and Mourinho thought
otherwise.
