The Spanish coach lamented the injury suffered by Villa and stated that he will consider his recover progress over the months to see if he is ready for next year’s European Championships to be held in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032.
Talking to gathered press reporters in Bilbao, Del Bosque reflected that the news is bad for Villa, who suffered the pain and will not be able to play in the coming months.
The world cup winning coach was in the Basque country to deliver http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Spanish Football Federation president, Angel Maria Villar, Bilbao’s 2011 Distinguish Award.
When asked if Villa could miss the European Championship, the national coach pointed out that he has not taken the decision yet. He stated that he will wait for doctor’s summation and Villa's recovery before coming to a decision.
Del Bosque admitted that he does not know how long he will be out for, going on to say that his absence would be a significant loss for the Spanish team.
Villa was phenomenal in Spain’s triumphant run in 2010 FIFA World Cup, and the manager accepted the void his absence would leave.
"He is a guy who has helped us a lot with his goals to become world champions, a stable boy who has spent many years with us and is personally appreciated by all," Del Bosque said.
However, the coach believes that it is a temporary problem, and Villa would return to the national team setup as soon as possible. Continuing on the subject, he revealed that the federation is aware of Villa’s predicament and have been in touch with his
family to enquire on his status.
The injury news has come as a double blow for the former Real Madrid coach, who was concerned with his first choice striker’s regular playing time with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
Del Bosque had stated earlier that he hoped for Villa to have more first team minutes further in the season as fixture schedule crams up. However, the coach will now have to assess his situation in four months time.
