With major changes in the top 10, Spain continues to dominate FIFA rankings while Joachim Low’s Germany displaced Netherlands from the second place.
Reigning European and World champions maintained their stranglehold at the top of FIFA World Rankings in the latest list announced by football’s governing body. However, there were major changes in the top 20 despite the fact that no international fixtures
took place.
Germany displaced Netherlands from the second place, while the rest of the top 5 remained constant. Fourth-placed Uruguay held significant advantage over England and are the only South American side, along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858, in the top 10.
Portugal and Italy improved their rankings by one place and now stand at sixth and eighth position, respectively. The European giants rose in the rankings to the detriment of Brazil and Croatia.

Changes in the FIFA World Rankings can be attributed to the usual devaluation of past fixtures as none of the top 10 teams were involved in friendly matches. The current classification took into account 51 international fixtures, with 32 of them from the
African Cup of Nations and 19 friendlies.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zambia-c3043 recorded the highest change in their rankings, thanks to the first title in their history. They climbed 28 positions and now rest at 43. This is the first time they have entered top 50 since February 2001.
On the other hand, despite their defeat in the final, Ivory Coast rose up three positions to 15 and are the highest ranked African team.
The next rankings are due to be published on March 7th and will possibly mark significant changes as a result of friendlies in late February.
