Volleyball is a sport that has now achieved global popularity. The game has done this in a relatively short amount of time as compared to other team sports. Not only is the game played by men, it is also taken up by the women enthusiastically across the
world. Volleyball is not just restricted to the university and professional levels, it is also inculcated as a regular sport by many schools with vigorous training programs.
The reason for the game’s popularity and the speed of success may lie with the fact that it has simple rules and does not require a lot of preparation to play. All that is needed is a ball, a net and some players.
A variation of the volleyball is also becoming popular; however, it is currently restricted to a few countries yet. Beach volleyball is a sport that is becoming standardized and has its own national and international tournaments. In a slight variation from
its originator, beach volleyball features two players on a team instead of the usual six. However, beach volleyball is also a sport in which both the men and the women take part.
