La Sylphe to be suited by return to sharp 5f in Musselburgh’s William Hill Nursery
Bispham Green, who was second on his previous three starts, deserves plenty of respect in the William Hill Nursery at Musselburgh on Monday, September 17, 2012. The Richard Fahey-trained has the potential to go one step ahead, but the vote should be given to the similarly consistent, La Sylphe.
The 2-year-old has been performing consistency over the past couple of months, giving an impression that she will be suited by the return to a sharp 5f. The filly can play an attacking role from the seventh stall.
There are a lot of things in her favour and therefore, the bettors should consider her as a solid option. David Barron’s charge registered her maiden success in July, when she proved too good for the opposition in the Bet toteplacepot At totepool.com Nursery at Southwell.
After bagging a comprehensive win, she continued the good work, and secured the runner-up spot in another 5-furlong meeting at Ripon. Owned by M. Dalby, the filly was third in her penultimate appearance at Catterick.
The daughter of Refuse To Bend was mighty impressive on her last start. The audience at Newcastle saw her missing the gold only by half a length in the Katherine Jenkins At Close House Supporting CHUF Nursery.
In the hands of Graham Gibbons, the 5-2 chance was overall leader on the far side. She was well in command, but showed no extra pace in the last 50 yards. As a result, she narrowly missed the crown.
La Sylphe has recently showed good form over five furlongs, and there is no reason why she should not do well in today’s meeting. On good to firm, she will face seven rivals. The class 3 contest, carrying a cash prize worth £7,763, will be kicked off at 16:10 GMT.
Bispham Green’s consistent run in hard to overlook. But the 2-year-old certainly needs an extra effort in order to produce a better result. Chasing Dreams, the nursery debutant, also warrants respect. The 2-year-old was an easy winner on her latest trip at Catterick.
Both Bispham Green and Chasing Dreams pose plenty of threat. Yet, La Sylphe will be a very hard nut to crack. Good luck to all the horses.
