Laars Teledyne 250K Gas spa/pool heater won't turn...

Have not started for a few years..(8 years old) won't start? before turn on gas, run pump, flip switch to pool, adjust heat and in a few minutes click click click and heat blowing out the top...won't start now? Thanks, Rob
