I am doing a lab on Metal Man (an Iron Man wannabe). What should he be made out of that is better than metal?

    Better than metal?

    Something that can resist heat and cold (desert conditions and high altitude freezing)

    Must be light enough to allow lift from the pods so he can fly.

    The only thing I can think of is Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic. It is extremely strong, resistant to temperature change, and extremely useful for its weight to strength ratio. Airplanes use them, and now people are making bicycle frames out of them and even more impressive, racing cars.

    Also it's very stable on a molecular scale, since graphite is the most stable form of carbon (although diamond is harder, it spontaneously goes into a graphite state)
