  1. If you are using the drop ins, why not just label the outside of the bottle that has no contact with the milk.  My suggestion would be if you don't have a label maker and can afford one, get it.  It will save you a lot of headaches in the future.  Think of all the other things that you may have to label for him.  Otherwise, you should be fine just putting masking tape on the outside of the bottle and writing with a pen.

  2. Sharpie.... write his name on the bottom

  3. These labels are expensive, but they stay on, and are dishwasher and bottle warmer safe!  We have some that have been in continuous use for over 2 years!  www.stuckonyou.biz

Order the mini labels - you get a lot more of them and they are plenty big enough to read.

Edit:  Oh yeah - the P-touch label maker by Brother works great too.  Its a lot cheaper, but not nearly as cute :-)

  4. As everyone else has said........  Sharpie.

My son goes to daycare and also uses the playtex drop ins.  The Sharpie works fine.  Of course, when you scrub the bottle the name will wear off, but sharpies will work for daily use.  :)

  5. we used a sharpie it doesn't come off and is not harmful

  6. I also used the Playtex drop-ins bottles and found the Sharpie wore off in the dishwasher. I used labels I ordered from http://www.stuckonyou.biz for the bottles. I ended up making labels with my P-touch labelmaker for the lids, and those worked well too. They have all held up in the dishwasher very well on the Playtex Drop-ins holders. They have not peeled or come off and I've used them on there for 6 months now.

  7. you can purchase labels.....www.mabelslabels.com

They are dishwasher and microwave safe! they are great!

  8. We have tried MANY options in the infant room I work in.  Part of how you label will depend on how you wash.  If you use a dishwasher to wash bottles, any label will come off easier, so we suggest hand washing if possible.

Sharpies work well but will wear off over time.  You would just have to relabel them occasionally.  We used to use masking tape with their name written in sharpie and that works well too.  This too will wear after awhile but seems to work better than the sharpie alone.  The option that we found to work the best is getting a label maker and making sticky labels for the bottles.  It looks clean and neat and seems to last the longest.  We just bought one at our center and label all of the kids bottles for the parents.  This option can be pricey but you can use it for other things as well.

  10. Use a sharpie marker and write along the bottom edge of the bottle. That's what we did with the day care I worked at before. Tape always peeled away or faded.

  11. i agree with the sharpie suggestion but drop in bottles have an open bottom so try writing his name on the inside of the bottle so it definately wont rub off on his hands when he is holding it. or maybe use a paint pen instead...i think eventually everything will begin to rub off after its washed enough...
