I am 38 weeks today. I've been having contractions close to two minutes apart, but they don't hurt, I've also had back and leg pain. A week ago I was dilated to 2cm and 75% effaced. Does this sound like labor is getting close? I'm so anxious.

  1. Sounds like early labor.  Try to tough it out at home and go in to the hospital when they become painful.  Call your OB to see what they want you to do.  Go right away if your water breaks though.

  2. It sounds like u r approaching ur day. it could be 2morrow or it could be a week from now. Just be patient. Good Luck.

  3. To me, this sounds like the begining of labor. I would wait until the pain gets uncomfortable to call the dr. Or you could call the doctor, and explain to him your symtoms. Maybe he would like to see you anyways. But I can imagine it's coming soon. Good luck and congrats!!

  4. I know you just want to have your baby now. It is important to be patient now as the finishing touches are being put in place for your baby. Eat a protein snack and drink a large glass of water and lay down and rest for a bit to see if the contractions either speed up or slow down. Other information on the link below for what to do next. Stay in close contact with your health team now by telephone. Do not rush to the hospital without calling first for their instructions, as they will just send you home again if you go in too early. Best wishes, G

  5. uh yes even if your contractions don't hurt you could be in labor since they are two minuets apart...but if your not in labor it's deff close

  6. its getting close.. i was close to that at 38 weeks as well..then 2 weeks later boom there he was

  7. i was having the same thing last week on tuesday all day and they went on for about 4 hours then they started hurting and getting worse i was 38 weeks and 3days and my water broke at 1am on wednesday morning and i had my son, i would call you dr and see if he wants you to be seen just to make sure good luck and congrats

  8. some people find that the labor pains in the belly are not as bad as the pains in the back, you might be going to have the baby, if the contractions are lasting about 30 sec., and the stomach gives you a good tight squeeze for the 30 seconds it is time to go, if they are 2 minutes apart, it is more than likely labor

    Congratulations.
