Labor relations in Michigan - Does anyone have any answers as to what is happening with the UAW?

I'm an operations director in the "smaller" business world - I work closely with staff and with management. My husband is walking the picket lines. I have to admit, I'm baffled at the lack of communication about the REAL issues when all that is said by the UAW reps is that GM is "dragging" their feet. That's the same story over and over. Comments are made by the reps to striking workers that office workers are making derogatory comments... how is this remotely helpful of the UAW reps? I am not 100% anti-union - Does anyone else feel like we are all being pushed around by politics in every direction? Help...I'd just like some insight ....

My question to your husband's union is:  in light of the loss of jobs and cuts in workers pay, how much have the upper management in the UNION cut their pay????????

Unions have run nearly all the other jobs out of Michigan (and the US) and now (finally) they are running their own jobs out of country.

Cut your losses, realize that the perfect world doesn't exist and then realize that you will NEVER find a basically unskilled job with half your pay or 1/10th of your benefits ever again.

But that is just me, a business owner who hasn't seen a paycheck in 2 years.  Funny thing, I still have to go to work and wouldn't qualify for unemployment if I closed the doors.
