I am 37.5 weeks pregnant and of course anxious about labour etc, although I am excited and fed up being so big! Anyway, I know about the usual signs of impending labour but am experiencing a few things that I hope show labour is just around the corner. Did any of you experience the following and how long afterwards did you go into labour? Thanks in advance!

1. menstrual aches in pelvis/top of legs/lower back that come and go.

2. b*****s now started leaking slightly and are tender/nipples sensitive.

3. up around 5 times a night for loo!

4. getting loads of Braxton Hicks.

5. sleeping a lot during the day

6. my sister says my bump has dropped.

7. my midwife told me to be preapred for birth from 37 - 38 weeks as my baby is big.

I feel more than ready for the baby to arrive!!!

  1. I know how you are feeling.  I had some of these symptoms for 2 weeks before my doctor ruptured my membrane.

  2. If its your first baby maybe not... if you've already had one, then it could be more hopeful!!!

  3. Your symptoms sound exactly like mine!! I really hope we're both soon. I go in for my 38 week apt tomorrow and I'm hoping I'm dilated more from all the contractions I've had. I was a 2 last week- everyone around me thinks by the end of the week, so I hope that's the case for you too but unfortunately they will come when they want to! :( Congrats and good luck!

  4. You could go another 2-4 weeks so dont get all excited.  I noticed with my two kids, the one i wanted to come early, came late and the one i wanted to come late, she came early.  Its like that baby knows what you want and just wants to let u know whos in charge.

  5. SOUNDS LIKE LABOR IS ON ITS WAY PRETTY SOON I STARTED GETTING THOSE RIGHT BEFORE I WENT INTO LABOR WITH MY LITTLE GIRL NOW I JUST CANT WAIT UNTIL I CAN GET THEM WITH THE LITTLE BOY IM CARRYING

  6. Well I started getting those Braxtons from about 18 weeks onwards, however I also experienced menstrual aches a week before I gave birth, so yes I would agree that it labout is on its way although it could be for another week or more

  7. Don't get your hopes up.  You could still go another two weeks.

  8. i have all the same thing i have 2 weeks left and have been dialated at a 2 for a month now and i am effaced 60% go back to doctor wensday but i feel the same way its hard for me to walk due to her pushing down on my cervix. its up to ur baby all signs couls say ya its close but he/she wil come out when there done and ready. just be prepared. n trust me u will know when the contractrions are real and its time to go they are like no other pain i have ever had before but they dont stay constant enough for me to go in. when u start getting those or looseing mucous plug or bloody show then u are closer. good luck cuz im readyu also!!!
