http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 president, Vincent Labrune, has admitted that coach Didier Deschamps might leave the club by the end of the current campaign following a tumultuous last few months
Olympique de Marseille president, Vincent Labrune has always expressed his utmost confidence in coach Didier Deschamps. The OM supremo has always followed the coach’s decisions with his eyes closed. Even when the club has shown its inability to win games,
the strongman of Marseille has given unwavering support to the former Juventus manager.
“There is no question of changing him by the end of the season,” said Labrune only yesterday.
“A blank season, it can happen and it should not challenge everything,” said the president. Yet one can sense that despite such support, Labrune is aware that his favourite person at the club could leave Marseille by the end of the campaign.
While talking to L’Equipe, Labrune gave a few hints on the future of Deschamps. The supremo says that there are times when coaches get offers they just can’t refuse.
“Didier wants to win the Champions League one day, and there are offers that are hard to refuse.”
L’Equipe and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 Football claim that Deschamps’ release clause is set between 3 and 3.5 million Euros. The French tactician’s contract expires in June 2014 and several European clubs are keeping a keen look on his situation.

Furthermore, the way things are going at Marseille, Deschamps won’t be looking to extend his stay at the Canebiere. As things stand, Marseille are in 9th place in the Ligue 1 standings and it is surely too late for them to secure a place in the
Europa League let alone the UEFA Champions League.
Moreover, with the club’s finances running dry, Deschamps won’t be able to make a squad that could threaten PSG’s ascendency in Ligue 1.
A few years back, Deschamps guided Marseille to their first Championelle in many years. However, that Marseille squad had the finances to challenge for top honours. The current situation is not likely to improve any time soon and Labrune is aware that he
won’t be able to keep hold of Deschamps for long.
